PURPOSE: A composition containing an Ardisia tinctoria extract or a fraction thereof is provided to concentration-dependently remove DPPH and ABTS free radicals. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for anti-aging contains an Ardisia tinctoria extract or a fraction thereof as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared using water, C1-C2 alcohol, or a mixture thereof. The fraction is a normal-hexane fraction, a chloroform fraction, an ethylacetate fraction, a normal-butanol fraction, or a water fraction. A pharmaceutical composition for anti-aging contains the extract or fraction as an active ingredient. A health functional food for anti-aging contains the extract or fraction as an active ingredient.
