A dispensing mechanism 1, such as for administering a dosage of a medicament from a liquid injector or a powder inhaler, includes a push button or rotary dial dosage setter 7 for setting the dosage of a medicament to be administered and moveable in a first direction for setting the dose and in a second direction for administering the dose. An indicator 34 is arranged to be displaced by a predetermined movement of the dosage setter 7 and a motion converter is configured, during displacement of the indicator 34, to convert a movement of the dosage setter 7 of a first magnitude into a movement of the indicator 34 of a second, different, magnitude which is less than the movement of the dosage setter 7. Two spaced indents 35a,35b on the indicator and a protrusion 36 on a window 31 combine with body protrusions 33a,33b the spacing of which provide lost motion between the push button 7 and indicator 34. |
