A mobile communications device allows communication in an ad hoc or mesh type wireless network. The mobile communications device is configured to transmit and/or receive signals over multiple radio frequency (RF) channels of the wireless network concurrently. The multiple signals may be encoded or decoded using a separate modem for each RF channel. This allows a single mobile communication device to communicate with multiple devices concurrently. For instance, a mobile station 400 is capable of multi-channel full-duplex communication is capable of receiving signals from mobile stations 410, 420, 430 and 440 on frequencies f2, f3, f4 and f5 while transmitting signals simultaneously over frequency f1. |
