The monofilament (1) has a powder core (3) containing tin and copper. An inner tube (2) surrounds the powder core. The inner tube is positioned in an outer tube (4), so that the outer surface of the inner tube is contacted with inner surface of an outer tube. The inner and outer tubes are made of niobium or niobium-containing alloy. The outer tube is arranged in a cladding tube (5) formed with a hexagonal outer cross-section and a circular inner cross-section. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing monofilament of superconducting wire. |
