The light bar comprises a profile rail (1) having a U-shaped main portion in the cross-section, an open channel (16) extending along longitudinal direction of profile rail for receiving the light source, and a cover rail (2) formed in the channel of profile rail. The profile rail has one or more locking structures (15) in the channel region. The cover rail has a U-shaped cross-section and one or more locking structures which can be latched in the cover rail held in the latching structure of the profile rail.
