The present invention relates to a method for visualizing a volcanic ash diffusion model based on an improved LOD, including the steps of: preprocessing volcanic ash particles; establishing a hierarchical structure of volcanic ash particle data; and visualizing volcanic ash execution. The step of preprocessing volcanic ash particles is a digital modeling step of converting volcanic ash simulation result data in a regular three-dimensional grid type. To structuralize the preprocessed data, a DEM of each step is divided into a regular hexahedron block form of a square size (32 or 64) of two to be stored, and an index file is generated for a correlation. The established multi-layered space cube divided into a proper size is displayed in a screen by determining a detail of the cube based on a distance between each 3D space and a user considering a user′s view point so that the optimum rendering speed can be maintained. The number of triangles displayed in the screen is adjusted by giving a rendering level to each space cube under user participation, and the visualization speed is increased by excluding the invisible space from the view point. |
