Control of electronic features in a network

A first electronic device is in communication with a base station of a network by means of a first communications technology and a second electronic device is in communication with the network by means of a second communications technology. The first and second electronic devices may be controlled by: identifying at a controller connected to the network that the first electronic device and the second electronic device have a common third communications technology, different from the first and second communications technologies; obtaining configuration characteristics for the first and second electronic devices at the controller; and determining at the controller that a communications link between the first and second electronic devices can be established using the common third communications technology, on the basis of the obtained configuration characteristics. The network is preferably a cellular radio network.
