<p>Disclosed are methods and apparatus for operating a sensor (14). The methods comprise: acquiring, by an intermediate module (10), from a sensor unit (8), configuration data, the sensor unit comprising the sensor (14), the configuration data relating to the sensor (14); acquiring, by one or more further modules (18), from the intermediate module (10), the configuration data relating to the sensor (14); and using the configuration data, acquiring, by one or more of the further modules (18), a set of algorithms comprising one or more algorithms selected from the group of algorithms consisting of: control algorithms for controlling the operation of the sensor (14), and data processing algorithms for processing sensor data output by the sensor (14).</p> |
