The system includes: a light source including a plurality of lighting units, the light source generating at least one light beam; an image sensor receiving an image including the light beam; and a processor determining a number or positions of the lighting units which are activated according to an area of the light beam in the image.

1. An optical remote control system, comprising:
a light source including a plurality of lighting units, the light source generating at least one light beam; an image sensor receiving an image including the light beam; and a processor determining a number or positions of the lighting units which are activated according to an area of the light beam in the image, wherein the area of the light beam in the image is represented by a number of pixels in the image, and the processor reduces the number of the lighting units which are activated when the number of pixels is larger than a first threshold, or increases the number of the lighting units which are activated when the number of pixels is smaller than a second threshold.
