1. A display apparatus comprising:
an organic EL element including a first electrode, a luminescent layer, and a second electrode, the organic EL element radiating light through the second electrode; a protective layer disposed on the second electrode; and a lens disposed on the protective layer, wherein an optical distance L between a reflective surface provided by the first electrode and the luminescent layer satisfies a relationship of:
(λ0/8)×(4m+2φ/π−1)<L<(λ0/8)×(4m+2φ/π+1) with respect to a maximum peak wavelength λ0 in a spectrum of the light radiated from the organic EL element, a phase shift φ caused when the light is reflected at the reflective surface, and a positive integer m, a light intensity distribution with respect to a radiation angle of the light radiated from the organic EL element into the protective layer has a local minimum value, and a diameter of the lens, a film thickness of the protective layer, and a width of a luminance region are set such that, of the light radiated into the protective layer, light radiated at a larger angle than an angle, at which the light intensity distribution takes the local minimum value, is not output to an outside of the display apparatus. |
