A laser diode driving apparatus for optical communication, comprising: a pre-driver; and a main driver, wherein the pre-driver includes a first differential amplifying unit having a plurality of cascode amplifiers CA1 and CA2, in which drains of pnp-type transistors M1 and M2 and npn-type transistors M3 and M4 are commonly connected to a plurality of output terminals Vout1 and Vout2, sources of the pnp-type transistors M1 and M2 are connected to a power supply voltage terminal VDD, sources of the npn-type transistors M3 and M4 are commonly connected to a ground terminal VSS, gates of the pnp-type transistors M1 and M2 are connected to a DC bias voltage terminal Vb2, gates of the npn-type transistors M3 and M4 are respectively connected to a plurality of low voltage differential signal input terminals Vin1 and Vin2, and a plurality of differential amplified signals are output to the main driver.
