The present invention relates to a composition containing an extract of Saururus chinensis L. for suppressing stress gastritis. According to the present invention, the extract of Saururus chinensis L. inhibits Hyaluronidase (HAase) to maintain the molecular form of hyaluronic acid (HA), and inhibits the expression of inflammation-related cytokines to exhibit an anti-inflammatory effect. In addition, the extract of Saururus chinensis L. showed an effect of inhibiting gastric bleeding in a gastritis animal model. Further, the safety of the present extract was verified through acute and chronic toxicity tests of the extract of Saururus chinensis L. Therefore, the extract of Saururus chinensis L. according to the present invention can be used for a functional health food composition helpful to suppress stress gastritis. |
