In a data conversion device, when hierarchical input data is converted into output data, a first cache efficiency which indicates the level of improvement in data conversion efficiency in a case where a first reference figure element referred to a figure which is a pattern of input data, and a second cache efficiency which indicates the level of improvement in data conversion efficiency in a case where a second reference figure element referred to the cached first reference figure element are compared. Also, after the reference figure element of a case where the level of improvement in data conversion efficiency is greatly cached, the input data is converted into output data using the reference run length of the cached reference figure element. By doing so, it is possible to cache the appropriate reference figure element by improving the data conversion efficiency. As a result, the efficiency of converting an input data to an output data can appropriately be improved. |
