The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for managing information and, more specifically, to an apparatus and a method for managing information which selectively open information uploaded by a user with respect to any subject online only to others for which the personal relation with the user is considered or which open each detailed information classified in detail according to security levels. According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for managing information includes an information management unit which extracts search information corresponding to the subject according to preset conditions in response to an information request received for a specific subject; a message generating unit which generates a message including the extracted search information; and a transmitting unit which transmits the message, wherein the preset conditions include at least one of whether a user transmitting the information request is qualified to receive the search information and whether the search information is subject to open. |
