The present invention relates to an IP camera apparatus having a network connection function and a method of operating the same, and more particularly, to an IP camera apparatus having a network connection function, which identifies a bandwidth of an IP camera connected to a communications port and additionally connected according to an allowable bandwidth of the communications port to determine whether the bandwidth of the IP camera is allowed, thereby efficiently supporting a network connection configuration of the IP camera, and a method of operating the same. The present invention enables a master IP camera set as a master to check whether connections of slave IP cameras are allowed according to specs of the slave IP cameras directly or indirectly sequentially connected to the master IP camera to a user, whereby the user can immediately determine whether additional connection of the IP camera is allowed in response to the port without having to recognize the spec of the IP camera so that a network using the IP camera can be easily configured. |
