Fire-protection composition comprises a hydraulic binding agent, basalt and vermiculite, where the proportion of vermiculite is 3-35 wt.%, based on the total weight of the composition. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a fire-protection coating comprising the composition on a solid mineral substrate U; and (2) producing the fire-protection coating comprising the composition.
