The operation state (friction sliding state) of a drag tool can be precisely detected. A motor control unit (60) has the drag tool and is installed on an electrical fishing reel operating a spool by means of a motor (12). The motor control unit (60) comprises a motor speed detecting unit (62), a spool speed detecting unit (68), a rotation speed comparing unit (67), and a drag operation detecting unit (66). The motor speed detecting unit (62) detects the rotation speed of the motor. The spool speed detecting unit (68) detects the rotation speed of the spool. The rotation speed comparing unit (67) compares the detected rotation speed of the motor and the rotation speed of the spool. The drag operation detecting unit detects the operation state of the drag tool based on the comparison result of the rotating speed comparing unit. |
