<p>The invention relates to a velomobile comprising a chassis (C) and a shell (B) configured to receive and protect a driver and possible passengers. The chassis (C) and the shell (B) comprise structural supporting elements consisting of a multilayer structure comprising at least one structural plate member (4; 16; 17) and a plurality of pockets (2; 6; 20) and/or ducts (21) suitable to receive and contain a pressurized gas, said pockets (2; 6; 20) and/or ducts (21) being arranged in fluid communication among them through channels (X) and being further provided with pressurization, depressurization valves (Y) and/or with condensate evacuators (Z), said valves (Y) of pressurization, depressurization and condensate evacuators (Z) being arranged in fluid communication between the pockets (2; 6; 20) and/or the pipes (21) and the external environment. The possibility of allowing the gas under pressure to flow through the channels connecting the pockets provides the shell with a high degree of deformability that allows it to effectively absorb impacts and quickly recover its original shape. The lightness of the shell facilitates the velomobile to float when it is used as a boat or amphibious landing craft, and also allows to use the velomobile as an ultra-light vehicle or as a propulsion means in aerostats.</p> |
