A protection device and method for a rechargeable power source of an electronic cigarette. The protection device comprises a rechargeable power source module (110), a microcontroller (100), a semiconductor switch (120), and an interface module (130) used for accessing a charging unit. The interface module (130) is provided with a first charging terminal (131) and a second charging terminal (132); the microcontroller (100) is provided with an input (104) and an output (105); the power source module (110) is connected to the interface module (130) and the semiconductor switch (120), and accesses the charging unit via the interface module (130) to charge the power source module (110); the power source module (110) is connected to the microcontroller (100) so as to provide a power source to the microcontroller (100); and the input (104) and the output (105) of the microcontroller (100) are respectively connected to the interface module (130) and the semiconductor switch (120), so as to detect a voltage signal of the first charging terminal (131), judge the positive or negative level of the voltage signal, and send to the semiconductor switch (120) a control signal to control the ON or OFF of the semiconductor switch (120). The protection device and method for a rechargeable power source of an electronic cigarette can be used for protecting the short circuit of the charging unit or the interface module (130) and protecting the external discharging of the power source module (110) in the charging process. |
