The invention relates to a method comprising the steps of: providing a number n x m picture frames; providing for each picture frame an estimation vector candidates array containing a plurality of vector candidates, said estimation vector candidates array indicating at least one motion and/or disparity relation between two of said picture frames; determining roundtrip paths from a starting block in a starting picture frame to the next picture frame and ending at an ending block in the starting picture frame, a path being formed by a concatenation of vector candidates of the respective picture frames; selecting one of said roundtrip paths according to a predetermined criterion, and using the respective vector candidates of the selected roundtrip path. |
