The present invention relates to an HEMP protection apparatus for an LAN line capable of protecting a device connected to the LAN line from a high - altitude electromagnetic pulse(HEMP) generated by high altitude nuclear explosion of ground 30 Km or greater. The HEMP protection apparatus for an LAN line includes a signal input unit to primarily limit an over current due to an HEMP pulse using a gas discharge tube when the HEMP pulse is input to a signal input terminal to which an LAN signal is input; an over signal filter to secondarily limit an over current due to the HEMP pulse by removing a high frequency component of the LAN signal, and limit an over voltage due to the HEMP pulse by reducing a voltage level of the LAN signal; and a signal output unit to output the LAN signal having the limited over current and over current due to the HEMP pulse to a signal output terminal.
