The present invention enables an emphasis circuit to be obtained in which by connecting in parallel a base-band amplifier and a peaking amplifier to each other and adjusting driving current setting units thereof, and thereby adjusting the drive current values of the base-band amplifier and the peaking amplifier so that the sum of the drive current value of the base-band amplifier and the drive current value of the peaking amplifier become uniform, without increasing power consumption (current consumption), a desired emphasis amount for which waveform degradation at the high frequency band (high frequency band degradation) of an output signal is suppressed can be obtained.
