<p>The present invention involves synchronizing the timing of exercise of the site of a lesion of a patient (joints, etc.) and healthy sites (joints, etc.) and applying electrical stimulation to the site of the lesion such that training wherein the image of exercising in the brain is integrated into actual exercise motions can be conducted, the synergistic effect thereof allowing for dramatic functional improvements to be achieved. This electrical stimulation device comprises: an exercise detection sensor which detects the exercise state of a site on the healthy side of a patient that is in a symmetric relationship with a site on the lesion side; electrodes which provide electrical stimulation to the site on the lesion side; and a controller which outputs an electrical stimulation signal to the electrodes on the basis of the signal from the exercise detection sensor. Electrical stimulation is provided to the site of the lesion on the basis of the output signal of the exercise detection sensor.</p> |
