[Problem] To provide a porous sintered material which has a uniform porosity, has a high degree of freedom of shape and therefore can have any one of various shapes, and can have any one of various porosities, and of which the porosity can be increased greatly. [Solution] A porous sintered material provided with: hollow cores which are formed by the elimination of an entangled or interwoven eliminable fibrous material; sintered walls (226) which are formed by sintering a first sintered powder held around the cores and which extend in the length directions of the cores; and voids each of which is formed between neighboring two of the sintered walls (226), wherein the cores and the voids are communicated with one another via defected parts formed in the sintered walls, and wherein sintered microparticle layers (232) each of which contains a second sintered powder having smaller particle diameters than those of the first sintered powder and which have given holes (231) is provided on the surfaces of the sintered walls. |
