The purpose of the present invention is to provide: an acrylic emulsion that can be used in a water-based primer for a sealing material that exhibits excellent adhesion with respect to an adherend such as mortar and that has good drying properties; and a water-based primer for a sealing material and a composition using same. Provided is an acrylic emulsion comprising acrylic particles that have an average particle size of 0.6 µm or less and that have either a vinyl ether oligomer or polymer on the surface thereof.
