PURPOSE: A positive electrode for a lithium secondary battery comprises a polyvinylidene fluoride-based copolymer which comprises a hydrophilic functional group as a binder, to improve the durability of an electrode adhesion, and to ensure long lifetime of a battery. CONSTITUTION: A positive electrode for a lithium secondary battery comprises a positive electrode mixture which comprises a positive electrode active material, a conductive agent, and a binder and is spread on the current collector. The binder for attaching between the positive electrode active materials or between the positive electrode and the current collector consists of a polyvinylidene fluoride-based copolymer which comprises a hydrophilic moiety. The comprised amount of the binder is 2-3.5 weight% based on the total weight of the positive electrode mixture. The weight of the polyvinylidene fluoride-based copolymer is 1,000,000-3,000,000 g/mol. A lithium secondary battery comprises the positive electrode. |
