PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for restricting watching and hearing of a television are provided to enable a viewer to watch a broadcasting restriction grade program when a broadcasting program grade is a watching restriction grade. CONSTITUTION: A tuner(11) tunes a broadcasting signal received from an antenna to a selected channel frequency. A display(12) displays a channel frequency tuned in the tuner by an image. A controller(13) controls the tuner in order to select a channel frequency of desired broadcasting. A fingerprint recognizing unit(15) recognizes the fingerprint of a viewer and outputs the recognized fingerprint to the controller. A memory(14) stores a fingerprint and an age recognized by the fingerprint recognizing unit and broadcasting watching according to the age. |
