The objective of the invention is to suppress a usage departing from a private usage scope when transmitting, via an external network, contents, which are stored within a home, according to DTCP. A remote access from a terminal to contents stored in a server is allowed only during a first predetermined time period starting from the date and time of registering the terminal with the server, thereby suppressing a third party's usage of the contents departing from the private usage scope. In addition, the contents available to the terminal via the remote access are limited only to ones recorded before the end of a second predetermined time period starting from the date and time of registering the terminal with the server, thereby suitably suppressing a third party's usage of contents departing from the private usage scope. |
