This odometer device (10) is provided with a magnetic scale (1), a magnetic sensor head (2), and a computation unit. The magnetic scale (1) is a sheet-shaped magnet at which the N-pole and S-pole are arranged alternately, is attached to the inner peripheral surface of the tire wheel (3) of a vehicle, and alters a magnetic field by means of rotating together with the tire wheel (3). The magnetic sensor head (2) is attached to a non-rotating back plate (5), detects the magnetic field altered by the magnetic scale (1) alongside the rotation of the tire wheel (3), and outputs a detection signal indicating the detected changes in the magnetic field. The computation unit calculates the travel speed or travel distance of a vehicle by means of processing the detection signal output from the magnetic sensor head (2).
