摘要 Provided is a position sensor configured in such a manner that, when information such as text is inputted with an input body such as a pen, unnecessary portions, such as the little finger of a hand holding the input body and the base portion of the little finger, are not sensed. The position sensor (A) is provided with: a sheet-like optical waveguide (W) wherein a plurality of linear cores (2) are arranged in a grid and formed on a surface of an under-cladding layer (1), and an over-cladding layer (3) is formed so as to cover the cores (2); a light-emitting element (4) is connected to one end face of the cores (2); and a light-receiving element (5) is connected to the other end face of the cores (2). The difference in the refractive indexes of the cores (2), and the under-cladding layer (1) and the over-cladding layer (3) is set within a specific range, and the modulus of elasticity of the cores (2) is set higher than the modulus of elasticity of both the under-cladding layer (1) and the over-cladding layer (3). When the surface of the optical waveguide (W) is pressed, the strain rate in a cross section of the cores (2) in the pressing direction is smaller than the strain rate in a cross section of the over-cladding layer (3) and the under-cladding layer (1).
