<p>[Problem] To provide a wireless power transmission system capable of detecting foreign objects, even if the distance between a power transmitting coil and a power receiving coil changes. [Solution] A wireless power transmission system (1) which comprises a power transmitting device (10), a power receiving device (20), a power transmitting coil (30), and a power receiving coil (40), and which transmits power in a contactless manner using magnetic field coupling between the power transmitting coil (30) and the power receiving coil (40). The wireless power transmission system (1) is characterised by: at least one coil from among the power transmitting coil (30) and the power receiving coil (40) being a symmetrically-shaped coil; having a magnetic field strength detection means (60) which detects the strength of a magnetic field that surrounds the symmetrically-shaped coil, and having a foreign object detection means (70) which detects foreign objects by using the magnetic field strength detected by the magnetic field strength detection means (60); the foreign object detection means (70) detecting the symmetry of the magnetic field strength from the magnetic field strength detected by the magnetic field strength detection means (60), and detecting foreign objects on the basis of variations in the symmetry of the magnetic field strength.</p> |
