A gas blast circuit breaker is constituted by, in a tank filled with arc extinguishing gas: a contact having a pair of separable fixed arc contacts and movable arc contacts; a puffer chamber formed with a puffer cylinder having the movable arc contacts at the tip thereof and a fixed piston; and an insulating nozzle attached to the tip of the puffer cylinder to surround the movable arc contacts and forming a flow channel for guiding the arc extinguishing gas from the puffer chamber to the contact. The puffer cylinder (104) has a cylinder portion (104a) at the end on the breaker section side, and a hollow main movable contact (102) is arranged at the tip end of the cylinder portion (104a) on the breaker section side. A pressing metal fitting (103) for locking the insulating nozzle (101) at the end of the cylinder portion (104a) of the puffer cylinder on the breaker section side is arranged in the hollow portion of the main movable contact (102). |
