<p>The application relates to a ground-engageable surface (10) comprising a plurality of structural elements (12) arranged a series of partially overlapping rows (26-46). The structural elements of one row (26) are connected to structural elements of an adjacent row (28) such that each row is pivotable about its connection. The pivotable connection is provided by means of an elongate cylindrical rod (29) which extends through aligned bores (14,18) in the structural elements. The surface (10) may be stored in a rolled-up configuration for ease of deployment over soft or unstable ground. The resilient nature of the surface (10) helps to maintain contact with the underlying terrain and spread applied loads evenly.</p> |
