<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a new biomarker reflecting future onset risk of diabetic nephropathy and provide a series of techniques utilizing the biomarker.SOLUTION: An animal having the onset of diabetic nephropathy or an animal with future onset risk is allowed to take a test substance; concentration of at least one of 8 types of marker substances in a biological fluid of the animal is compared with a reference value, and an improvement effect of diabetic nephropathy or a reduction effect of future onset risk that the test substance has is evaluated. The marker substance is captured on a carrier on which a substance having affinity to the marker substance is immobilized, and concentration of the marker substance in the biological fluid can be also calculated. There are also provided a screening method of a substance utilizing the evaluation method, and a determination method of the onset of diabetic nephropathy or future onset risk by using the marker substance as an index.</p> |
