<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of an exhaust turbo supercharger in a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: An exhaust turbo supercharger has a plurality of turbine chambers 6 corresponding to a plurality of exhaust outlets 4, and an exhaust turbine 9 is incorporated in each turbine chamber 6. The respective exhaust turbines 9 are coupled through a common rotating shaft 11, and compressor blades 10 are driven by the rotating shaft 11. Exhaust gas exhaust passages 13 communicating with the respective turbine chambers 6 are gathered to a single outlet 14, and thus a housing of the exhaust turbo supercharger works also as an exhaust manifold. Dynamic pressure of exhaust gas directly acts on the exhaust turbines 9 and the exhaust gas at high temperature and high pressure as it is enters the turbine chambers 6 with no heat taken away at the exhaust manifold, so that recovery efficiency of energy becomes high.</p> |
