PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and low cost rod type fiber laser amplifier, in which a rod type fiber laser medium is shortened.SOLUTION: A rod type fiber laser amplifier includes a rod type fiber laser medium the stress distribution in the cladding of which is uniform, a polarization selection element 206a installed on the light incident side of the rod type fiber laser medium, a polarization selection element 206b installed on the light-emitting side, a first optical path reaching the polarization selection element 206b via the rod type fiber laser medium from the polarization selection element 206a, a second optical path reaching the polarization selection element 206a from the polarization selection element 206b, and a polarization rotation element 212 installed on the way of the first optical path. |
