PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize an optical modulator module.SOLUTION: An optical modulator module comprises: a package 20 in which a light input window 30 and a light output window 32 are arranged in parallel; a modulator chip 50, in which a light input end 60 intersects with first and second light output ends 62, 64 and both ends intersecting with the light output ends are provided with first and second monitor light output ends 66, 68; a mirror 92 that refracts an optical axis of input light from the light input window to make the input light incident to the light input end; a first substrate 140 that is disposed on the side, provided with the mirror, of side walls of the modulator chip and that has detection means 140 for monitoring output from the first monitor light output end; and a second substrate that is disposed on a side facing the side provided with the first substrate and has detection means for monitoring output from the second monitor light output end and in which a side facing the modulator chip is larger than the first substrate and a side intersecting with the side is smaller than the first substrate. A gap between an inner wall of the package and the modulator chip is smaller on the side disposed with the second substrate than on the side disposed with the first substrate. |
