The present invention relates to a method for adsorbing and removing phosphate. The method for adsorbing and removing phosphate of the present invention is characterized by including a step of coating red mud generated during aluminum production on the upper end of sediment deposited on the lower end of seawater. Accordingly, the present invention can have effective adsorptive properties in an aqueous solution that includes seawater or industrial waste.
