The invention relates to a fire extinguishing device which is built into an aircraft, allowing the transport of fire fighting material and the controlled evacuation of same from an aircraft in flight onto the fire-affected area. The device comprises at least one closed independent receptacle (3) which is filled with fire-fighting material and which is housed inside a container. The container is solidly connected to the aircraft and includes at least one hinged outlet hatch for the independent receptacles (3) and, when opened, said hatch allows the fire fighting material to fall under gravity. The independent receptacles (3) comprise built-in fill valves (4) with a non-return mechanism guaranteeing leak-tightness. In turn, the container is provided with flap doors providing access to the fill valves from the exterior. |
