Disclosed are a remote device for a multimedia commerce service and a method for controlling the same. The method for controlling the remote device for the multimedia commerce service according to one embodiment of the present invention includes: a step of receiving a first signal from a display device or an external server; a step of displaying a GUI according to the received first signal; a step of receiving an user input through the displayed GUI; and a step of transmitting a second signal corresponding to the received user input to the display device or the external server. The second signal includes information for card payment or information for mobile payment.
