PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium fuel cell capable of preventing self discharge of negative electrode material and supplying stable electric power over a long time.SOLUTION: A magnesium fuel cell 10 comprises: a negative electrode material 12 made of magnesium alloy; and an electrolyte 18 in which a magnesium ion is eluted from the negative electrode material 12. The magnesium alloy contains aluminum and calcium. The electrolyte 18 is preferably sodium chloride solution, sodium hydroxide solution, sodium hydrogen carbonate solution, sodium percarbonate solution, or mixed solution containing two or more of them.
