PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide advanced communication services through existing communication switches even in those circumstances in which the hardware communication switch is not configured to provide such communication services.SOLUTION: A PSTN 11 receives a dialed telephone transmission through a wireline telephone 7, through a wireless telephone 9, or through a computer network. From the PSTN 11, the call is routed by the network to a switch 15. The switch 15 analyzes the access number and directs the call to a telephone call receiving device outside a telephony platform 100; or to a computer network, such as an Internet TCP/IP network 21, or to CTI cards 25 of the telephony platform. Those calls directed to the CTI cards are directed either to a subsystem 102 through a server 23 or to a subsystem 104 through a server 17 as determined by the access number utilized.
