PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for heating a load using RF such that an object comprising both low dissipation ratio portions and high dissipation ratio portions can be uniformly heated for thawing, heating and/or and cooking.SOLUTION: A method comprises (a) providing a load having an overheating temperature point; (b) selecting maximum power to be dissipated in the load in a manner which avoids overheating; and (c) applying RF power to the load at a plurality of different frequencies, said power being different at different frequencies and below said maximum power at all frequencies. |
