PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently generate near-field light by propagating a luminous flux to the vicinity of a main magnetic pole without reducing light propagation efficiency.SOLUTION: A recording head 2 includes: a slider 60 which has an outflow end surface 60a arranged in a direction orthogonal to a movement direction of a disk; a light propagation element 40 including a propagation part 50 which propagates a luminous flux L toward a disk surface while condensing it; a recording element 41 having a main magnetic pole 47; and a near-field light generation element 43 which is arranged in the vicinity of the main magnetic pole and generates near-field light S from the luminous flux. The propagation part and the main magnetic pole are arranged along the same plane defined by two directions of a direction (Z direction) perpendicular to the disk surface and the movement direction (Y direction) of the disk, and the propagation part includes a first propagation part 53 for propagating the luminous flux in the plane farther from the main magnetic pole and a second propagation part 54 for propagating the luminous flux in the plane toward the main magnetic pole and causing the luminous flux to be incident on the near-field light generation element. |
