METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING REDUCED IRON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which improves productivity by increasing the yield of reduced iron when manufacturing reduced iron by heating agglomerates.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing reduced iron includes the steps of: agglomerating a mixture comprising an iron oxide-containing material, a carbonaceous reducing agent, and a melting point control agent; and heating the obtained agglomerates to reduce and partially melt iron oxides in the agglomerates; and agglomerating iron components to produce reduced iron. Fine granular iron produced in the step of producing the reduced iron is further mixed into the mixture after adjusting the particle diameter thereof.
