An orthopaedic surgical instrument assembly is disclosed. The assembly includes an orthopaedic surgical instrument including a first surface, and a measurement gauge removably coupled to the orthopaedic surgical instrument. The gauge includes an arm having a tip positioned proximal to the orthopaedic surgical instrument, and a plurality of markings defined on the arm. Each marking indicates a predetermined distance from the first surface of the orthopaedic surgical instrument.
