A patterned circular polarization plate used in a three-dimensional liquid crystal display device having matrix-arrayed pixels divided into a right-eye pixel group and a left-eye pixel group for each line of pixels, the right-eye pixel group and left-eye pixel group are alternately arranged for each of horizontal scanning lines and given different degrees of polarization, thereby creating a three-dimensional image, the circular polarization plate comprising a phase difference layer laminated body and a polarization plate, wherein the phase difference layer laminated body comprising: a base material having orientability; and a phase difference layer made of a liquid crystal material fixed in a nematic phase and formed in a pattern with two different portions, the liquid crystal material being in each of two different portions and oriented to conform to the two different degrees of the slow axis and fixed as it is: in the pattern, the two portions being arranged parallel to the horizontal line, adjacently to each other and alternately in perpendicular with respect to the horizontal line such that they each have a width corresponding to one line of pixels aligned along the horizontal direction, further wherein the polarization plate is bonded to the phase difference layer laminated body, and the phase difference layer is a λ/4 plate.
