Abstract The invention relates to a sun protector for attaching to a head covering comprising a flap and means for attachment to a head covering, the flap being shaped such that in use, the flap is 5 positionable in a covering position wherein the flap covers the back of a wearer's neck and substantially all of the wearer's ears and at least a part of the wearer's face, and wherein a portion of the flap includes a pouch for carrying a coolant, the pouch being shaped such that in use the pouch rests on or around the wearer's neck, and wherein the pouch and the coolant are of sufficient weight to secure the flap in the covering position and prevent the flap 10 from moving unduly from the covering position.
