PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt grinder that allows a work for exchanging an endless grinding belt to be performed without needing large force.SOLUTION: A belt grinder 100 in which an endless grinding belt 148 is stretched around between a drive pulley 140 provided in a main body 110 of the grinder and an idle pulley 145 rotatably supported to a pulley support bar 130, comprises: a spring 160 that energizes the pulley support bar forward toward the main body of the grinder so that the idle pulley presses the endless grinding belt forward to apply tension against the endless grinding belt; and a spring support member 170 movably attached to the main body of the grinder, which compresses and supports the spring 160 so that the idle pulley can be moved between a first position where the idle pulley is applying tension against the endless grinding belt and a second position which is displaced from the first position by reducing the amount of compression of the spring 160 so as to decrease tension. |
