PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus including a density sensor which can be available until the image forming apparatus reaches the end of service life, and can be positioned with respect to an intermediate transfer belt more accurately.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes: a device body 11; an intermediate transfer unit 50; an image forming unit 12; a sensor unit 500 which is installed in the device body 11 and comprises a density sensor 51 which detects density of a toner image on the intermediate transfer belt 125, a sensor mounting member 52 on which the density sensor 51 is mounted, a support unit 53 for movably supporting the sensor mounting member 52 in a direction of approaching or separating from the intermediate transfer unit 50, and a contact part 522a which is in contact with the intermediate transfer unit 50 to prevent the sensor mounting member 52 from moving with respect to the support unit 53; a moving unit 60 which moves the support unit 53 in the approaching/separating direction; and a control unit 100 for controlling drive of the moving unit 60. |
